AI Day

A.I. Day

A One Day Experience

March 19, 2026

All attendees will come together for a dedicated day focused on the use of AI to support OASIS and HOPE efficiency and accuracy. Learn from experts about how AI-enabled technology interacts with current CMS requirements and explore practical, real-world applications for documentation, coding, and review.

Engage in small-group or one-on-one demos with home health and hospice technology partners showcasing current and upcoming AI-supported OASIS and HOPE coding and audit tools. Hear directly from clinicians who are already using AI solutions – what’s working, what safeguards they rely on, and how they maintain clinical judgment and compliance.

This unique convening of experts and end-users is an important forum to ask exciting and hard questions, surface opportunities and risks, and ensure the clinician voice – those most impacted by AI implementation – actively shapes the conversation and the path forward.

session:

The Clinician’s Role in AI adoption for OASIS HOPE Use Cases

This session explores the evolving landscape of OASIS data collection and auditing, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with AI-augmented solutions. Distinct phases in the Admission workflow where AI can be leveraged to support OASIS efficiency and accuracy will be identified as the use case framework for the day’s presentations. The presentation will offer insights and questions for the audience to consider as AI-enabled solutions are presented and providers share their first-hand experiences with piloting and adopting AI technologies into the OASIS & HOPE workflows. The session will emphasize the critical role of experienced and invested clinicians in the process of development, responsible use, and refinement of OASIS and HOPE related AI tools.

Darrin Butler

Director of Quality / Pennant Services

session:

From the Field: Our Experience (so far) with AI Solutions for OASIS

Hear practical insights from Pennant Services’ Director of Quality on their experiences piloting AI solutions to support OASIS tasks. Darrin Butler shares lessons you only get from doing, related to workflow fit, adoption realities and AI accuracy.

session:

Smarter Referrals, Faster Care: The Role of AI Before the Home Health Admission

AI-enabled intake can give intake staff and the assessing clinician a smarter head start to patient admission. By rapidly reviewing and organizing the referral packet (orders, discharge paperwork, F2F, H&P, meds, therapy notes, etc.), AI can deliver a concise pre-visit summary and suggest relevant OASIS codes for clinician review. This session will demonstrate how AI can support faster starts of care, cleaner documentation, and stronger data integrity without risking high standards of care or shifting clinical responsibility.

Brande Kirby

AI Nurse / Enzo Health
LPN, HCS-D, HSC-O

session:

The Smart Assessment Visit: Using Ambient Listening to Support OASIS Documentation

This session explores how ambient listening technology can capture the assessment visit in real time to support OASIS data population and generate a clear, comprehensive clinical narrative. We’ll walk through how AI can assist the assessing clinician by surfacing relevant visit details, reducing documentation burden, and supporting accuracy without disrupting workflow. The session will also focus on the guardrails required for responsible use, including patient consent and privacy, clinician review and verification, clear source-to-output traceability, and overall documentation integrity.

Roger Herr

Vice President Home Care / VNS Health
PT, MPA

session:

Implementing AI for OASIS & HOPE – Pilot Design, Pitfalls, and Success Metrics

Roger Herr shares a real-world, end-to-end walkthrough from VNS Health’s experience piloting multiple AI solutions to support OASIS completion. This “connecting the dots” session ties together the day’s concepts – from defining the specific problem to solve, to selecting the right workflow use case, to designing and executing a pilot with intentional governance & clinician oversight, to evaluating success using measurable cost, quality and compliance metrics.  Attendees will leave with valuable insights they can adapt to their own organization’s AI projects.

Lori Marmon
PT MBA COS-C Clinical Consultant

Session:

Rules of the Road: OASIS & HOPE Regulatory Non-Negotiables

This foundational session introduces a practical reference sheet that summarizes the non-negotiable regulatory “rules of the road” for OASIS and HOPE – covering data collection, validation, privacy, and security. We’ll walk through the key requirements at a high level and point attendees to authoritative sources for the full details, so everyone starts from a clear, shared compliance baseline before considering AI-supported workflow changes.
Eddie Cruz
Chief Product Officer / Select Data RHIA, HCS‑D, COS‑C
Session:

After the Visit: AI‑Enabled OASIS Review & Coding Recommendations

Learn how AI-enabled tools can support post-assessment OASIS review by scanning documentation, surfacing potential inconsistencies, and proposing coding recommendations for clinician/QA validation. This session walks through a practical “accept/reject” workflow, how teams set guardrails for compliance and documentation integrity, and what to measure to ensure AI improves efficiency without compromising accuracy.
