The COS-C Exam tests candidates on their knowledge and ability to apply CMS OASIS data collection rules and guidance. The exam tests on current CMS guidance. Currently (in January 2018) this means that the guidance included in testing includes that found in the 2018 CMS OASIS Guidance Manual, posted CMS OASIS Q&A (including the expansion of the one clinician convention effective Jan. 1, 2018 and posted Q&A from Home Health Quality Reporting Program National Provider Trainings). The COS-C Exam also reflects changes to the new Medicare Home Health Conditions of Participation that impact OASIS data collection that became effective Jan. 13, 2018.
