OASIS Now is a 3-part OASIS orientation series designed to provide important core foundational OASIS guidance to support an agency’s OASIS orientation and competency program. This streamlined training is based on current OASIS guidance. Each session provides scenarios and rationale for reinforcement and application of teaching points.

OASIS Now: Intro to OASIS
This session provides clinicians with essential understanding of OASIS, focusing on why and how to report accurate OASIS data. The foundational information includes a discussion of OASIS regulation, structure, and how OASIS data is used for agency payment and reporting of quality. OASIS accuracy is dependent on understanding the rules of OASIS data collection. Attendees will leave this session with knowledge of OASIS conventions that guide selection of OASIS responses in their day-to-day coding and review of OASIS items.
OASIS Now: OASIS Accuracy for Quality Measures
The public reporting of quality measures on Home Health Compare, an agency’s Quality of Patient Care STAR Rating and quality measures used in HHVBP are paramount to an agency’s success in home care. In this session, attendees are introduced to specific OASIS coding guidance for the most challenging OASIS items used to calculate quality measures. Attendees will learn about the direct effects of OASIS data collection on their agency’s quality measures and will then be armed with tips and tools to enhance accuracy of OASIS data and resulting measure rates.
OASIS Now: OASIS Accuracy for PDGM Payment
This session provides a simple to understand overview of the Patient Driven Groupings Model (PDGM). The main focus and discussion are on the 8 OASIS items that contribute to the functional impairment level category of the model. Contrasting application scenarios illustrate how assessment strategies can provide more accurate OASIS data collection and potentially improve payment. Attendees will leave this session with critical tips and guidance for accurately coding these items.
