About Us

About OASIS Answers, Inc.

OASIS Answers, Inc. (OAI) is a team of experienced nursing and therapy professionals. We offer OASIS training programs to help post-acute care professionals do accurate reporting, meet CMS guidelines, and prepare for the COS-C exam.

At OAI, we use our vast industry experience and knowledge of cutting-edge CMS initiatives to build the best possible education resources. Our interactive workshops include realistic patient examples, mock exams, and take-home resources based on the latest CMS guidelines. We help clients at the state association, federal government, quality improvement organization, private industry, and individual provider levels.

OAI has contributed to the highly touted success of the original Home Health Value Based Purchasing (HHVBP) Model by helping to integrate OASIS item and quality measure education with quality improvement strategies. We also provide technical assistance and training support to CMS on the original and expanded HHVBP Models.

Our Mission

OAI’s mission is to support the education, documentation and clinical needs of post-acute care providers. We also support the organizations and government entities that represent, support and regulate them.

We recognize the resource limitations and challenges facing the healthcare industry. The OASIS Answers team is committed to creating programs and tools that simplify the rules, promote compliance, support best practices and lead to excellent outcomes.

Our History

OASIS Answers, Inc. was established in 1994 by Linda H. Krulish, PT MHS COS-C, as Home Therapy Services. We began providing consulting and training nationally while also delivering contracted therapy services to Medicare certified agencies.

In 2004, the company name changed to OASIS Answers, Inc., to better reflect the focus of our work and expertise. This corporate name change supports our belief that accurate OASIS data is central to critical industry needs. We believe that OASIS data accuracy can help with patient assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient and provider outcomes, quality improvement, reimbursement, and survey compliance.

Clinical and Technical Support

OASIS Answers provides resources, education, and certification to enhance knowledge and competency related to OASIS data collection. The Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy workshop and Certificate for OASIS Specialist- Clinical (COS-C) Exam are the nation’s premier OASIS training and certificate products, available only from the OASIS Answers’ team.

Since the implementation of OASIS in 1999, OASIS Answers has supported OASIS accuracy through presentation of hundreds of two-day interactive workshops nationally. Over 30,000 COS-C exam administrations have been administered by OAI since the initiation of the Certificate program in 2004.

CMS Contract Support

As subject matter experts in numerous contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) spanning 20+ years, OASIS Answers specializes in providing clinical and technical support to item, instrument and quality measure developers and care providers. This includes developing, maintaining, and implementing standardized and interoperable data elements and quality measures.

OAI supports CMS QRP contracts by helping to develop the post-acute care Guidance Manuals. We also support multiple CMS contracts across PAC settings. These contracts include the Quality Reporting Program (QRP) contracts for home health, hospice, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), and long-term care hospitals (LTCHs).

Currently, OAI is providing instrument development and testing support to CMS for the Hospice Outcomes and Patient Evaluation (HOPE) Tool and hospice quality measure development.
