INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE

Information Collection

OASIS Answers is the sole owner of the information collected on www.oasisanswers.com. We collect information from our users at several different points on our website.

Registration

In order to use certain areas of this website, a user must first complete a registration form or fill out an order profile. During registration, a user may be required to give contact information such as name, email address, phone number, mailing and billing address, employer and job title, and professional discipline or licensure information. Certification candidates also provide examination registration details and, where applicable, requests for accommodation. Some information is optional while other information may be required. In some cases a unique identifier such as a username and password may be required in order to obtain further benefits from our website.

Payment card information is collected and processed by our payment processor. OASIS Answers does not store payment card numbers.

We also receive examination scheduling, attendance, and scoring information from our examination delivery vendor, and registration information from employers or organizations that enroll their staff in our programs.

Information Use

Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with the best and most useful content and services. We use the information we collect to process your orders and deliver your products, administer examinations and issue and verify credentials, manage certification renewals, award and document continuing education credit, meet our tax and accounting obligations, provide customer support, and detect and prevent fraud and examination misconduct. We may also use it to contact you from time to time regarding our products and services. At all times you have the right to request that we cease contacting you by opting out of our communications.

Cookies

Like other websites, OASIS Answers’ website utilizes cookies to improve your experience with our online content. For instance, we may use a cookie to identify registered clients so they don’t have to re-enter their email address and password when they revisit our site. Employers and Sponsoring Organizations

Where an organization registers or pays for your examination or course, we confirm your registration, attendance, and result to that organization only where you have given your consent at the time of enrollment.

Credential Verification

We maintain a public directory that allows employers and the public to verify certification status. Certificant name, credential, and current status are publicly viewable through this directory.

Legal Disclaimer

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website. We may also disclose personal information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Surveys & Contests

We may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information such as name and email address. Contact information will be used to notify the client if a prize is offered for completing the survey. Though we may use an intermediary to conduct these surveys or contests, they may not use users’ personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We keep order and financial records for as long as required by tax and accounting law. We keep examination and certification records indefinitely, because ongoing verification of credentials is a core function of a certification program. Marketing contact information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain uses of it, and to appeal if we deny your request.

Examination and certification records that we need in order to maintain the integrity of the credential may be kept even after a deletion request, to the extent the law allows.

Opt-Out

We will send you information about our various products and services we feel may be of interest to you. If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply let us know by clicking the “unsubscribe” option at the bottom of the email or by mail at OASIS Answers, PO Box 2768, Redmond, WA 98073. Please include your name, company name, complete mailing address, phone number and email address. Regardless of whether you opt-out, we reserve the right to contact you by any available means concerning orders you place or inquiries you make.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date, and give additional notice where the law requires it.
