OASIS-E2 proposed for off-cycle April 1, 2026 implementation!

CMS has made available to home health (HH) providers the OASIS-E2 PRA package. The package which can be downloaded here includes four documents:

1. Supporting Statement – Part A

1. Attachment A – OASIS-E2 Change Table

1. Attachment B – OASIS-E2 All-Item Instrument

1. Attachment C – OASIS-E2 Itemized list of data Elements

In the supporting statement CMS provides a summary of upcoming changes to OASIS that are proposed to be implemented on April 1, 2026.

Proposed Changes: As outlined in the CY 2026 HH NPRM, CMS has proposed to retire OASIS item, O0350 – Patient’s COVID-19 vaccination is up to date. Additional sub-regulatory changes indicated in the PRA supporting statement include:

• Replacing A1250 – Transportation with a revised transportation item (A1255)

• Adding A1110 – Language, B0200 – Vision, and B1000 – Hearing to the Resumption of Care time point

• Replacing M0069 – Gender with A0810 – Sex

Revisions to the OASIS can be seen in Attachment B – the All-Item instrument.
