In working with home health agencies in our Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy trainings, one of the questions we receive is, “When are the next HHVBP reports coming out?” Here’s a simple way to remember when the HHVBP Preliminary Interim Performance Reports (IPRs) are generally posted for agencies.
The Preliminary IPRs are generally posted in January, April, July, and October. They typically follow the same posting months as the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (HHQRP) for the Care Compare Provide Preview Reports and Quality of Patient Care Star Rating Provider Preview Reports. After the HHVBP Preliminary IPRs, Final IPRs are posted.
Final IPRs historically have been made available to agencies about 5-6 weeks after the Preliminary IPRs were posted. Luckily, all these reports (HHVBP IPRs and HHQRP Preview Reports) are posted to the same iQIES folder system.
Both the preliminary IPRs and Quality of Patient Care Star Rating preview reports are time sensitive as each has a review period in which providers can alert CMS if they find any CMS-related calculation errors on the reports.
- HHVBP recalculation requests for the Preliminary IPRs – are due within 15 calendar days after publication of the Preliminary IPRs.
- HHQRP suppression requests for the Quality of Patient Care Star Rating Preview Reports- are due within 30 calendar days after the publication of the preview reports.
How to get up to date on when reports are posted
The best method is to stay in tune with CMS communications via the CMS listservs:
- HHVBP Communications (including all performance reports) – Expanded HHVBP Model Listserv
- HHQRP Communication (including all preview reports) – Post-Acute Care Quality Programs Listserv
Learn more about CMS reports and the expanded HHVBP Model on the Quarterly OASIS Update webinars.
