CMS Posts FINAL and Errata

Although CMS published the FINAL HOPE Data Specs in April, they have just announced the availability of a Hospice Vendor Update slide deck and an Errata (V1.00.2). These updates are related to the October 1, 2025 national implementation of HOPE.

Highlights from this recent information include:

• REMINDER: HOPE assessments will be submitted within iQIES.
  • iQIES Information coming late July 2025 – More information about iQIES, including training, user guide and onboarding information will be provided starting in late July of 2025.
• Vendor Utility Tool (VUT) – will be available in August 2025.
• Training Video Link: Upload an Assessment for MDS Users (as HOPE will function the same for uploading assessments).
• Data specification information related to:
  • The replacement of HOPE item A0810. Sex with A0800. Gender
  • A new HOPE Update Visit (HUV) warning edit
  • A new edit related to HOPE item Z0350. Date Assessment was Completed, impacting inactivation records
  • The addition of a caret as an allowed value for J0915. Neuropathic Pain
• And more!
